UNIF is proud of its exceptional staff which it believes is one of the most diverse and dynamic in Haiti, offering a competitive quality of teaching.
The UNIF professorial corps is split into two designations: the fulltime staff and the part-time professors. The part-time professors are primarily only involved in teaching one or more classes per semester. They may help students in other ways also, such as giving advice regarding a senior capstone project, but this aid falls outside of their official responsibilities in their contract.
By contrast, the full-time staff teach courses in addition to occupying other management positions at the university, guiding and mentoring students, helping on UNIF research and other projects, and more.
UNIF’s professorial corps includes many international professors. The fulltime staff includes one American citizen and two Cubans. Part-time professors teaching at UNIF include Brazilians, Cubans, and Canadians.
With regards to educational qualifications, fulltime staff have obtained doctorates from Cuba and the United States, while others have earned master’s degrees from Haitian and foreign universities, including in Brazil, the United States, France, Belgium, and more.
